hi all i just thought i would post a little about myself.

my name is ryan, im 24 and live in brisbane. Im a motor mechanic by trade.

I just recently bought an orange (yellow cab's, looks terrible) 1200 ute, that has a n/a sr20, receased firewall, and a larger trans tunnel in it. (but it doesnt go) I will be rebuilding this beast with an sr20det, auto box, and all the other usual upgrades,i will be using it mainly for drag, but will still be used on the street on weekends, and street regersted. now this is something that will take some time as i dont have a lot of money to throw at it at the momoment as i currently drive a nissan pulsar gtir, that im doing an engine rebuild on as well.

this ute came up so i grabbed it when i had the chance to.

I have found out that the search engine is my new best friend too. i will post some pics soon

Welcome to the forum Ryan.
Datsun's are old cars and nearly everything that could be done to them has been already, so as you said use the search function to your advantage to prevent angry replys.

Put some photo's up for people to have a look at. If you haven't already noticed there is a thread here for the MADDAT ute "PROMO" car here have a look.

Catch ya
Nick

you might run into trouble trying to road register a sr20det as qld limits are either 1.8 turbo or a 2 lt n/a engine. so if you left the sr as a non turbo it will pass no probs.

welcome to the forum, as you will find out this is the best datsun site will all the knowledge needed to make one nice 1200

in south australia you can have a 2ltr turbo which is how the maddat car is getting regoed. do you mean that the inside of the cab is yellow?

im pretty sure hes talking about the outside color. taxis in brissy are called yellow cabs, and the color is more like a orange color. as for the sr thing i hate it that you cant have a 2ltr turbo in the 1200s
