talk to a transmission shop or the dealer, one of them should be able to source one, otherwise you can have one made, but buying a new tranny would be cheaper, someday that will be the only choice.

Doug, didnt you buy a B210 with a 5spd?
The clutch disk is different from the 4spd and so is the rear output.

you need a 5 speed and maybe a different tranny mount, other than that the 4 and 5 speed are the same.

a B210, 210 and RWD 310's are virtually the same chassis wise, and only a little different than a 1200.

I'm trying to find out what all I'd need to do to convert a '78 B210 with a 4 speed,
to a 5 speed from another '78 B210 that I bought,or would a 210 be a better way to go?

If you had a 1977 B-210 hatchback it probably had a 63a dogleg box, why dunno, that 1 year they decided to go way overkill on the transmission.

the differences are the shift pattern, the clutch slave is on the other side, the 63a is heavier and built a little stronger. It uses a different, larger output shaft, like the automatic tranny.

Other than that they're the same, basically. if you had a 1200 it would be annoying to fit, but since all 210's had an "automatic" transmission tunnel ( they were all big enough to fit an auto ) it's more or less a direct swap.

there was possibly a 63a with a 1:1 5th gear instead of the overdrive 5th that's common.

The wiki has a table of how much power the 56, 60 and 63 boxes can handle.

Hello everyone,
I have some very good news to report,
I have just picked up the overdrive 5-speed
(normal shift pattern) 60 series.
It cost me $800, which I think is quite reasonble, for something so rare, and the difference it makes is very pleasing especially on the highway.
ie lower engine revs, better fuel economy

I've done my level best to break my old 60, and It just wouldn't die. I think 60's are under rated.
The kicker is that they are so old now. The oil leaks out, or becomes contaminated. Then they begin to get noisey. It's not too hard to replace the bearings in them though.
