Just wondering if a 1200 ute diff fits into a 1000 sedan?

Has anyone done this conversion? Broke diff yesterday, the turbo motor needs a better diff behind it, what does the 1000 come out with? H145?

Couldn't find anything in the search

I assume you mean drum to drum, not just the centre.
It can be done with some mods but is wider and will need some fabrication work on the spring pads and a 1200 ute modified tail shaft

Thanks bert!

i've just put the 1000 on car stands and split the diff from its housing and found that it's a 'dogs breakfast' inside the diff housing, i never seen so much damage to a H145 and the axels, bits of the gears and metal sitting in the bottom, but its obvouisly not strong enough for 12psi of boost, have to do somthing about this problem.

Any recommendations from anyone in Datsun land?

With some bolt on flares on the back it should be fine.

I was going to do it even bought the low mileage diff and brand new Nismo H165 LSD but when I measured it ,I saw I would have to go fwd offset wheels on the rear and I wouldnt give up my beloved deep dish Watanabes to I ditched the diff.

How much wider are we talking about? surley it would only be 20-50mm?????
Does anyone have the exact measurements?

Damn i was hoping i didn't have to use 'gay wheels', Although some EXA or ET wheels would look sort of ok? maybe? not sure if they even fit? I dunno we'll see how i go.

Maybe i'll just stick the turbo motor in my ute and use the 1000 as my daily driver, i dunno???
