could be as cheap a 2 grand if you skip the diff and brakes and make all the crossmembers your self or 10 grand for all the fruit or 10 to 15grand for a drive in drive out job

crunching a few numbers i recon like perthute said if u skip the diff n brake upgrade, make all the x members urself, bash the tunnel 4 the box 2 fit, buy a front cut cheap, run the stock computer, intercooler from ebay, upgrade the fuel system n fab a exhaust urself n a few other little things u COULD scrape it in under $5000 even cheaper if u buy some of the stuff second hand. but then realy all u will have is just a running stock ca motor in ur ute n not being able to get the full satisfaction driving it coz the rest of the car is not built around it and nursing the car so as not to brake the diff or having to brake 300 meters b4 the traffic lights so as not to run up the ass of another car coz of the stock brakes. and then there is bound to b som1 pull up next to u wanting to give u a go. if u can handle putting around till u can afford to upgrade the diff then by all means but thats another $1500 at least on top of the $5000 then the brakes and then a aftermarket computer + tuning n b4 u know it ur nudging 10k.. im doing the conversion soon but putting in a bigger tunnel and running the a12 n 4spd till i have EVRYTHING i need to drop the ca in so the cars not off the rd to long.. im lucky as i know alot of mechanics and get m8s r8s n im good with cars n fab work but i still recon im gonna b up 4 atleast $6000 to have a car thats not a death trap to drive..

im doing this exzact conversion and have asked the same Qs ima get a shop to do most of the work as i dont have a workshop or space to do it / the skills but im planing to do the brakes and leave the diff stock( besides the LSD) and the ca stock maby a bigger turbo or somthing but not much and im goin to use the r30 box not the sivia box and im
gonna try and keep it under 12g's but thats just so i know its gonna get done and becuase the only work im doing is the removal of the a12 and box

its a bit of a shock but once its done u got a dam fast car thats cheapish of fuel and the massive smile wen u pull up next to a new VE SS with his 300kw and blow him away

If most of the labour is done by yourself, they will normally come in at around the $8000 + if the Brakes, suspention and diff are done as well.
I have heard so many times that, people will just putt around untill they get the diff and brakes done. It never happens, and in most cases they will snap axels in about two to three weeks, or will have brake fade as they try to slow there new rocket down from warp speed.

My two cents is to do the brakes and suspention first, diff second and engine conversion last. You want to be able enjoy your new ride.

yes good idea! Brakes and suspension first. the other parts won't be useful if the car bottoms out constantly and can't stop. I've seen too many cars with modified engines and stock brakes, it's not a good idea.

you need more than just a disk brake upgrade you need a brake upgrade. these things are fast with ca in them you want to be able to stop.
