We tried this on a mate of mine's 120Y coupe racecar. Undrivable/Unpredictable/Diabolical was the outcome on that car. All we did was flip the main leaf with the eyes, then using a big vice forced them all back together. Ride height looked good but the above was the outcome.

Put it down to experience and ended up fitting coilovers and five-linking the car. Thinking about it afterwards the upside down main leaf was of course cancelling out the rate of the rest of the leaves and had a 'dead' feel to it.

Pretty much worked like a length of angle iron being about that 'springy'!

Pretty sure that mine were reset cold (ie not heated)

Call "All Springs" and/or "Liverpool Springs", both in Liverpool. When this question was asked on ae86dc they both got the thumbs up from various members.

I had the flipped leaves in my 120y but I couldnt work out a combination to get the height just where I wanted it, it always ended up too low. Your ute might be different but i pulled mine out after one day.

Most common method to reset is cold roll or hammer press.
The companies that do it hot, Claim that cold resetting will result in sagging leaves. But they still advise that their hot resets need to be maintained and reset. Go figure
Let your fingers do the walking

Pic of cold rolling.

The place i use charge $110 for springs to be reset and $180 for a reset and extra leaf added. $400 sounds like a rip off

i was hoping to get an answer today as i wanted to do it over weekend

got a price for nearly $400 to reset from a truck shop

by the sounds of it no1 can do it on here

is it just as good to flip em over???

do i just
take leafs out

flip over

take the supports off that rap arond leafs

put the original bottom piece which is now on top on bottom

re clamp the supports

put back in

is there anything more to it that i havent added

i might just flip them till i get another set to attempt resetting cause by the sounds of it on here may be hard as there is smart people on here with the dato stuff and no1 sounds confident enough so may just wait till i get a spare pair to practice on

for now can some1 confirm in steps the flipping process

also ive seen alot of people over the years flipping leafs with no problems at all
i think its more legal then lowering blocks as police look for blocks in my area on the busy cruising days when they have a lovely day booking and defecting
i had blocks but sold them and need it lowered asap its like a 4x4 at the moment

cheers

I just found an engineering shop that did this sort of thing.

They re-set mine flat/straight with no load and also added another long leaf to increase the rate (just slightly shorter than the main leaf with care that it can't foul the eyes at any time).

Has worked well in my coupe racer since the mid 90s.
And therein lies the secret of success. Do it right & you only need to do it once.
