Great looking car, but then KB10s just are a great looking car.

I had no idea you could ask that sort of money for one, I will have to rethink what I am doing with mine.

Six grand and it needs a clutch and possibly an engine refresh!
If anyone wants to pay that much ...take mine with good clutch, motor, club rego, racing tyres,etc.etc.etc i'll even chuck in the trophys!

$6000 is pretty steep. It's a neat little car though, good luck with the sale.

Yeah, what Bert said - if you did the clutch and whaterver the motor needs then you could justify $6k.

Good luck though - nice looking car youve got there!

I kinda wonder if the clutch and engine are worth doing given that a buyer is prob after the chassis first and foremost.

Will let you all know what (if) it gets sold for.

BTW that racing datto looks AWESOME. Must be fun to drive!

At last someone is thinking clearly.
The KB10 was only ever sold in Japan & Australia so they are a future collector classic, particularly in other parts of the world.
They were made for only 15 to 18 months.
They are the first of the small Datsuns & being only ever made in RHD they are unique in the B10 world as all other models were made in LHD as well.
Hell, they didn't even sell them in Okinawa, which is part of Japan.

Good examples are hard to find & I don't know how hard it would be to replicate this car, but to do it properly would cost at least that much.
I know how much mine has cost & the paint job will eat up a sizeable chunk of that figure alone.

When assessing the value of a car, have a think about the big picture & in the case of selected small Datsun models, the rarity & desirability factor will ensure that they only appreciate in value into the future, as long as the body shell is somewhere between very good & perfect.
If this one fits in here, then I don't think that the price is outragous at all.

If all one wants is a cheap POS to abuse, then buy a Ute.
