That was prolly (sic) the most offensive thread I've ever read, these blokes obviously have no idea. I doubt these Tata's will still be around in 40yrs being modified and widely sort after.

If only women could learn that their tata's aren't widely sort after when they're modified at 40yrs old.

Unfortunately both the manufacturer & the majority of new car buyers don't give a rats about what happens to these cars in 40 years. In fact the manufacturer probably hopes that not a single example exists in 40 years.
Buyers, frequently women buyers don't want to be seen dead in a 40 year old car. They want something that they think is fashionable & reliable. Old is seen as obsolete & unreliable.

Tata, like all other carmakers, is a business, one that makes a product & makes a proffit when they sell it. If the car lasts 10 years [or less] & is scrapped, so that they sell another one to replace it, ........ that's business.
Having them still running fine after 40 years & adored by the masses who buy old ones to rebuild instead of new ones to drive is bad for business.

Most cheap new cars now are just Kelvinators, .... whitegoods, to be used, discarded & replaced on a regular basis.

That's just business.

Then why is it that Kelvinators run for 40 years no problems?

But you are right. Most people get tired of their fridge -- or their car -- and just want a new one.
