back wheels rubbing.

hey all, my back wheels rub on my 1200 sedan when i take a corner hard, or go over a bump when not going over it dead straight ie speedbump. they are trx wheels, but i thought 195's were ok on the back?

any info? does it happen to you guys aswell?

if ya put 15s on a car that has 12s standard you can expect that lol

but to fix maybe firmer suspenison and roll the guards

hahah yeah. it seems to be the inside guard rubbing. as in the wheel need to be spaced out, is'nt rolling the guards on the outside part of the wheel?

ooo, well you need spacers maybe 10mm would do the job but i think spacers are ileagal . but a sway bar should help :)

cool thanks for your help, do the 1200's have swaybars in the rear, beacuse im pretty sure mine doesnt.

yeah roll the guards (will require a touch up respray around lip), and put some 5-10mm spacers. It doesn't take much to fix the inner guard rubbing.

It could also be that you are running 60 series tyres, which only works with 14 inch rims. For 15s you really need to run 45-55 series.

it would be due to the offset of the wheels, with TRX rims being very close to a front wheel drive offset. 5-10 mm wheel spacers would help, but you would probably need to roll the edge of the guard over so it doesn't cut into the tyre. You should also put longer wheel studs on it, which isn't too hard. I've used rear wheel studs from a bluebird that i salvaged from a wrecker,just put a wheel nut on the stud before hitting it in, then replace with the longer wheel stud & bring it into place using the same wheel nut & maybe a large nut under it. It's a wonder the front wheels arent rubbing on the struts. Do you still have the front drums on it?
