Hi there,
I'm hoping to find advice on whether doors from the 1200 Coupe will fit my 1000 Coupe. Perhaps 1000 sedan doors are the same size.
Also looking for contacts in Melbourne for trusty mechanics and panelbeaters who dig old cars - need work done to get her going again. Be cool to get advice , thankx

Thanks for that - guess its a panel filler job then- quite a bit of rust in them but car body is fine.

it seems to be the case that most 1000 coupe doors are shagged...

It would seem that you will need to be on a very steep learning curve if you don't yet know that there is no similarity between the 1000 & 1200 model body shells.

I suggest that you get a copy of the Gregories Datsun 1000/1200 workshop manual since you are restoring this car as there are huge number of mechanical & electrical differences too. [try eBay]

the doors from the 2 door sedan and probably the van-wagon are the same apart from the window frame that can be changed over, of course the glass needs to change over as well. the lock button needs adding across too.
the trim might be an issue though, with the lock mechanism etc.
