Mine was a Kalahari tan 1200 sedan, drove it for 3 yrs and couldnt kill it, when I bought my 1600 I gave the 1200 to my sister who drove it for a year, then I made the mistake of selling it. Best memory is driving to the summernats in '92, blew a head gasket around Lake George, drove it on to Canberra, and back home again and it still kept going, just had to top up the water every 50kms or so

My first car was a Datsun 160U sss, that my father bought as scrap and restored. When I got my license, he gave it to me as a gift for passing Matric. I sold it a year later to buy my first Datsun Ute, I,m still sorry I did till today.

It was peak hour (probably not too common in Wagga). A little old lady three cars up jumped on the brakes to avoid running up the back of someone. Instead she got four cars up her arse.

My first car was, God forbid, a Holden Gemini. I bought it from a deceased estate. One owner, less than 70k on the clock, all original, no rust (except for the radiator due to never being driven), I tell ya, this thing looked like it had just rolled off the showroom floor.
Anyways, after about two weeks of ownership I was cruising along in peak hour when a batch of cars locked up in front of me. I hit the brakes and the stem of the brake pedal snapped (I wasn't aware at the time, just freaked 'coz the car didn't stop). By the time I yanked the handbrake it was too late, written off. Seems the old fella was watching upstairs and didn't like the thought of someone else driving his pride and joy.
The upside was though I moved into Datsun's. If I hadn't have written the Gemi off I'd still have it today, it was the perfect stocker. That was ten years ago.
Just thought I'd share the joys of my first car.
