I have 2 pairs of tyres, same size (205/60 13) that I'll be using at wakefield on the weekend, but they are two 32Rs (soft) and two 48s (medium).
The car is standard height at the back and lowered at the front, some neg camber and understeers like hell.
My question is, how should I distribute the tyres to make the car fastest, ie. 48s on front, back, left side, right side etc?
Or does it really not matter?

Definitely the A032's on the front. Softer on the rear will make it push like mad through the corner, have you got a locker?
Why not lower the rear because that definitely will help things.

no locker, just rooted LSD.

Lowering the rear involves finding someone who doesnt want $300/side to reset springs. Flipped leaf is a no-go, so is blocks.

cheers for that though, its kinda the way I was heading, the 48s seem to have a wider flatter surface which would give a smaller contact patch with the front camber.

is there a nice thick leaf on the bottom if there is pull all the springs apart and put that nice thick one on top and bolt them back together this will lower it considerably

yeah i'd go soft on the front too. the tyres will help but some suspension tweaks will go a long way!

Is this the 120y?

Bit of a worry that it still understeers with a lowered front and standard height rear end? Did you cut the springs or replaxce them with proper lowered springs?

If you cut them, you have effectively also increased the spring rate, which can promote understeer, but with the rear sitting higher, it should oversteer......

Either way, out the 32's on the front, the Medium's in the 48's will be lucky to get enough heat in them in a light weight car to work properly.... they really only work well in heavier cars.

Also, 48's fall off their peak performance pretty quickly, where as the 32's seem to work well all the way through the tread depth.

They are king springs in the front.

Thats interesting that the medium 48s only suit heavier cars, they are, I believe, the new control tyre for Aussie Race Cars (wolki101 can confirm) which are far from heavy.

Its settled then, 32Rs on the front, 48s on the back.
No arguements for 32Rs say on the left hand side as there's only I think two left hand turns on the track...?

It should'nt be too hard or expensive to dial out most of your understeer Ty,but not before the weekend.
Firstly you need to find a truck spring business,where they can cold bend them.I had a pair done this week for $88.00 inclusive.
There must be one of these places around the capital with all the heavy transport in the area,may take a few calls.We are talking leaf springs ar'nt we?Once you find someone get in contact before starting anything,
Tyre selection won't fix a problem,but will mask it for a short period until the tyre overheats and "lets go"but i'm sure you know this already.

yeh lowering the rear was on the cards but the track day has kind of crept up on me and I ran out of time. I'm relying on decent tyres masking the problem haha, they do a good job of it on the street :)

Yep leaf springs, and to be honest I've only been to one place asking about resetting, the price scared me off so I didnt keep looking
