Fortunately, it would seem that the 'at fault' driver in your case is insured, so you will at least get something.
Sadly, there are those who are not insured, or who think that they can get away with it while driving cars that the insurer can refuse to pay out on due to non compliance with the insurance conditions. Sometimes we think these people are our friends but when it comes to the "crunch", they are not. Illegal cars do not do the rest of us any favours & only give the insurers, the cops & other authorities an excuse to give the rest of us grief. When i review my cars policies I'm going with shannons, they'll actually give you a discount if you are a cams license holder for say over a year and you can show them you use it.

who is your car insured with?? some times it is quicker and less painfull to use your insurance to repair it, cause they insured it in the first place, then they chase her company for the money....i am an insurance broker for motorcycles but they all work in similar ways.
see some insurance companies may not pay much if any due to the vehicle being not in there coverage guidelines, but yours obviously does. you will not lose your rating and not have to pay a cent. plus if her company has a fit about it, they battle another insurer not just a poor defenceless car driver.... every claim i have ever made i have done through my company and let them fight it out. i get my car/bike on the road quicker and no stress...plus if she takes her time paying the excess, (using her company to fix your car), it will hold you up. not fun either way, i hope you get to keep that wonderful car of yours and it is fixed rupert

i carn't be with shannons cause i'm to young..
i'm with WQBE.. and i know that she has to pay for everything.. i have some bad whiplash so i will get that looked at and she's going to pay for my physio.. hopefully it will not take to long to get everthing sorted out. i will keep an update going so you all know.. i hope that they can see the whole value of the car and i will get something good out of it.. cheers chris.

I got hit to by some lady in a car park but worse part was that i wasn't there and she did a runner so trying to convince the insurance company was hard but all good now just need to get it in and get quote i no its gonna be a big bill cause its the whole right side!

![Open in new window](javascript:CaricaFoto("http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t233/moistopia/after.jpg");) ok its been 2 weeks since this has happened and i took it to the panel beaters that week.. they made up a quote to makeand made it a write off.. the best market price they would give me was $2500 and then i bought it back for 100 bucks!!! woot! so i have to wait now for the check to be sent out in the mail and it will be over.. i took it my dads workshop and a trusty old panel beater ben fixed it for me.. well at leist mad it straight and drivable.. so now i will keep fixing it and try make it look like new.. thanks for all your querries.. Chris Ps: its good to be driving again.. bloody sick of the push bike. have to be at work by 5.30am and its a 20km ride on a bmk.. :D
