dam thats sad, I worry about that heaps too as my last ute was written off by a 4WD and couldn't afford good insurance so got nothing.

My new ute is insured with shannons and they get my vote, I will be putting the house and other car insurance with them I think.

Edit: I really hope that they will fix it as its sad to see another sedan go. If they dont use the money to buy an everyday car then the sedan becomes a project..

thats very fixable please get it fixed at the others expense.

If her insurance company offers you $500 coz its a old car(as they do) go get some for sale ads of 1200s and send them to them to PROVE they are worth more. And find out what class the car is due to its year (vintage, classic etc).

more than 3 g damage there for insurance purposes... the c pillar is deformed so might be structual write off even.

yeh thats so true.. i did the right thing by hanging back and not waiting in the middle of the intersection... i might call it a right off and get the money and use it as spare parts hopefully..

i insured it for $3000 so hopefully i can get it fixed up all good..

well it shouldnt cost you anything because she ran up the back of you and her insurance will cover it, the vehicle should be restored up to or to a better standard than it was before. if she doesnt have insurance youd better hope that you atleast have full comp other wise it might be court for you two. if you have full comp you still wont have to pay anything if she was at fault.

Last time i insured the 1200 value was $1350 for a 4door with auto trans. Don't let them write it off!

that sucks man, i always worry that this is gonna happen to me. you know what they say it not your driving you have to worry about it all the other dick heads on the road. hopefully the insurance covers it and it looks good as new.
