hi guys im just wondering if a12 and a15 flywheels are the same?

hi im not sure if there the same but they both fit each other because i have put a a12 flywhell on my a15

They are interchangable but not identical.
The larger the engine the heavier the flywheel.

dodgeman i am going to have to argue with you on this i have a flywheel off my a14 it is the standard one but is far lighter then a standard a12 one its at 9 kgs standard a12 is about 11-12 kgs

As far as I remember with previous posts about the same subject, one of the members had A12,A14 and I think also a A15 flywheels. He weight them and I cannot confirm the weights but was as Dodgeman said.The bigger cc engines had heavier flywheels.
Very strange that your A14 one is lighter than a A12 one. Not really suppose to be according to posts that I read in the past.
Are you sure it has'nt been "played" with by a previous owner?

In addition to the weight difference, flywheels from 1974 up have larger bolt holes:
1967-1973: 3/8 inch bolts
1974-2007: 10 mm bolts

I've also heard of potential mismatches of flywheel and starter motor and backing plates with the A15.

Sorry I don't have anymore details on these facts.

yes i am sure it hasnt been played with it has though a very large valley runing around it on the motor side i will take a photo of it and post it oh and i think the a14 may have been out of a forklift or something similar
