This is Jose's sunny truck from South America. He had it on Craiglists a couple of weeks ago at $6500, but it apparently did not sell. Take a look at the dings in the panels, you can see in the photos above.

But certainly one of the Top Five utes in USA

I'd but that, but I don't think I could fit in it.

That is a '77 and as such, it is subject to California Smog testing. It looks like it has a Weber and I can't remember if it has headers or not. '76 and older is exempt from the smog laws.

I don't think the '77 smog requirement is too tough, but it's kind of a drag that you have to have it certified every two years.

The eBay auction ended "reserve not met". I bid $2500, and someone else bid $2850 for top bid.

On the one hand, this is a rare, desirable vehicle for USA, and so deserves a high price.
On the other hand, this particular one is in average 30-year old condition driving condition, which demands a low price.

What's it worth? At least $2850, I think more but at a higher price buyers are limited (I was willing to bid more, but had my eye on a different Sunny Truck). Depends on what someone will pay for it. And whether the owner actually wants to sell it or was just testing the waters.

Follow up: It WON'T pass smog. He has some friend who is doctoring up the smog tests. The title can't be legally transferred, nor can it be registered in California until it passes smog.

(I also just noticed the sunroof)

I was prepared to buy it, but not now.
