Forgot,i've also picked up several dattos at our local council "pound" auctions. This is where cars are sold off to the highest bidder on the day for cars that have been dumped or just left for a variety of reasons buy thier owners on the side of the road.I've payed anything from $15-$100 for cars that have had flat batteries!
Sadly it's getting hard now as the bogan scrap metal buyers will pay heaps just so they can get em and on sell to the crushers, plus dattos are getting very rare now and most are owned by those in the know and not Joe Wanker

I got mine for 500$ US, thought that was a good deal.
Also got two truck loads of spairs, mostly extra wheels, but well worth it.

I bought a datsun 1000 just out of rego with an A12 in it for $150 in early 1990 from a sisters old school mate we got it in the bush and it had been sitting for a bit where it ran out of rego we had to pull over heaps and fight off the spiders that had nested in it. Wont go into all the 1200 coupes and sedans we would pick up at the wreckers i worked at for around the $100 mark even breaks my heart.

$300.00usd for a 72 2 dr sedan from the dealership I worked for. They took 50.00 out of my next 6 checks. That was 1982.
Now the car is a coupe and I own it again

Also I got a 1200 sedan for $100 with a GX bonnet, thats the one thats on my green car in my avitar now!

Dont see bargains like that anymore

Sounds like "power wins dyno comps, torque wins races" dude from the datnats DVD.

Umm I guess my cheapest (Other than free) datto would have been my first 120y 2door sedan, paid 6kangaroo legs for it, so thats about $2.50 in lead, powder and primers.
