The price of crude had its biggest surge in a single day ever last week, the writing is on the wall.

I have been thinking about this for the last few days and wondering what everyone is going to do when fuel hits $5 and then $10 a litre, and then in a flash of inspiration I realised, they are all going to wish they had little Datsun 1000s, 1200s and 120Ys, all the Commodores, Falcons and Landcruisers will be left on the side of the road where they have run out of juice because they will be worthless and not worth filling with petrol.

We however shall be free to roam the roads with the electrics and hybrids in our super efficient old skool technology, the Datsun shall take its rightful place at the top of the pecking order.

That day will soon be upon us my friends when Datsuns will rule the earth.

Haha yes.

It's sad to see in PNG because we're currently copping the price rises and in regard to the income per capita it's devastating.

We have 10 company vehicles, 15 including forks, cranes, 3 back up generators which run about 35% of our business over the week (herendous power company) so the fuel bill is tremendous.

The day datsuns rule the planet, heaven has truly crossed into reality!

Hmmmm, [thinks] I still have that 42,000 mile A10 under the bench, ... on gas. in a gutted 1000 Ute. Should be good.

When I had the GX in my B10 I was able to coax a true 50+ mpg from it in economy mode without difficulty, & that was at speeds that the A10 would have struggled to maintain.

Dodgys thread has brought back memories, many many years ago i did an economy run with my club in Melbourne,to my surprise i won the event outright, and class, and the Trophy sits engraved within my show-offs cabinet with the markings engraved 57.6 MPG Datsun 1000

That was a stock as a rock B10 4 door with about 45 psi in the little 12" nylons

So yes, there is every likelyhood of a second coming
