well, I'm running a W58 behind an A15, so I can't see why it should not be good.

datspeed, why do you need to fit a supra box, Please tell me your making over 450hp.
If so pictures:)
On a serious note your car will lose heaps of power to drive that box.

lol 450 is a bit high aiming 400hp lol (tyres)
i've heard that the stumpy gearbox'es are no good. people only use them coz the shifter hole etc etc. but now only sound like the only solution. standard ca box aight spesh either.

Why do you say that? It won't loose you more power than to drive any other similarly strong box. Here in ZA they put those boxen behind every man and his whore, and they all last and make great power.

Only thing is, when you put serious power through it, it starts rattling litteraly, but that's where it stays. I don't know why, but mine did that aswell, and it's still goiong strong after many hooligan launches. So don't think you broke it when it starts rattling...

They actually do a cast bellhousing here in ZA which will mate the CA18 and/or SR20 to the W58, as they do for just about every other engine you can think of...

gotta say the supra or most W series 55,56,57,58 and 59 are beautiful to shift, are compact and weigh from 30-35kg depending on whether they have cast iron centre plates and front bearing cover or alloy.
I have a fully reconditioned w57/58/59 hybrid with hilux 2000 rear extension housing for my cosworth vega I was adapting which is the most forward of all the W series boxes so it could fit my datsun 1000 without changing gears behind my seat but now its just an ornament

it's not a supra it's a Stumpy Skyline 5 speed gearbox, with a CA18 bellhousing, and a custom-made mount.

If you can't get the supra in try this one!
