again guys, just want to stress the point that this thread was started not to stir on a "total shakedown" but to add just one little section to help liven up 1200.com.

Not to say a few other changes would be sweet but the bronco bros created this site as a hobby and prob dont have the time to do much. Adding one section wouldnt be hard which is why i stired.

If DD had the power to do it and the brothers gave it the thumbs up then thatd be fantastic otherwise pleassseeee bronco's do something.

One way around the need for a project thread would be for people to post their build up threads in the wiki.

It's a shame not more of us update stuff on the wiki - there is so much more I think we could add to it.

Agreed, a new forum named "Projects" is a good idea.

Without waiting for that, the Datsun1200.com wiki gives you now, access to and better control over a Projects page. You can change, update, post pics, etc. And people can comment or ask questions on the Talk page for each Project. There are some there already and you can add your own.

Projects Section

Why not give it a try? You can do more in the wiki than you can in the Forums.

You do need to register for the wiki, as it doesn't use the same login as the Forums. But you'll probably be able to use the same user name when you register.

Sounds like a good start DD, but I think a 1200.com based one would be ideal as people can check over that section while they do there daily/hourly check over 1200.com

Cheers Jake

yea one or 2 new sections but dont make it in to ozdat.com too manny sections and your foreva going from one to the other and makes it boring
one thing thats needed is a thread that stays at the top with ca18det into 1200 guide ,

I'll stick my oar in and say, A projects thread would have some positives, but then every dickhead with more than 6 posts who can use camera (that excludes me) will post up a thread about their ride. I can see it would quickly become filled up with near stock cars, posted by the same newbies who ask the same old questions over and over. IE, I just got given my grandads old 120Y wagon, and i want it to go faster. How do I put an SR20 in it? (needless to say they can barely change a tyre, let alone fabricate or weld)
There are of course many of us who's ride thread would be filled with usefull info.

Also, it would need to to two separate forums. If you're rereading say Dattodudes thread to find out about say what size injectors he's using, it would suck to have to wade through 50 posts saying "Cool" or the like each time he posts a pic of some new part. Follow what I'm saying?
Al www.oldschool.co.nz, there is one thread for the project, (which only the builder can post in) and another which is for disscussions about the build.
Then you'd prolly get newbies stating a new thread because they are too lazy/dumb to find the original disscussion thread. so it's far from a perfect system.
I'd like to see some more heavy handed moderating. Non relevent photo's being deleted, double posts being deleted, idoitic posters being kicked into touch.
