well i thought i might make a thread for my latest ute.

heres a few pics from the start before any work started

the next step was to cut start on the tray lip so out came the angle grinder for some fun

and then the rain gutters aswell plus a small amount of fill after all the panels were welded, to reduce warping it was welded in sections of about 20cm.

whilst the gutters were removed some rust patchs were replaced with new metal

the side panel was replaced as it had too much rust

the bumpers were removed and welded along with the tray then being stripped and most of the dents fix as much as possible

before the tray was done the tailgate had its handles removed and welded new metal in

the rear quarter that wasnt replaced was smoothed out over and over again until i was happy

the interior was then stripped and a g200 charade dash was cut down

once it was sized up i fibreglassed the ends

the dash will be covered with leather very soon

the color ascot green was chosen but now wont be the color as im going with the new ford gunmetal grey color.

the side indicators were adjusted to fit honda civic indicators

the engine was memoved

and then tidied up, most of the joins were high filled and the ca was installed

intercooler and radiator postion was also decided

There are droplets of liquid in the shot with the civic lights on the bare-metal guard. What is it?

Are you using a liquid to cool the steel as you weld to stop warping?

All looks very good, there's some top workmanship there.

ahhh finally an update...

heres the engine bay with some color (still needs clear coat), its like a gun metal grey color from a 92 lexus (dont know which one tho)
