engineering a 13b turbo into datsun 1200 without major chassis strengthening mods will be very difficult.

i know of one 1200 coupe with a 13bt thats engineered in vic, but im pretty sure it was engineered interstate initially

youve come to the right place if your wanting to modify a datsun 1200. there is a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips.

not many members here are fans of rotorizing datsuns which is fair enough, so theres not a lot of info regarding rotors on this site..

when it comes to rotors on this site, its handy to take advice from the members who have experience in them. at least they'll know what they are talking about

wasn't a flame guys was just seeing who has owned rotors before. i'm a rotor head to the bone and with all the rotors i've owned i've had no troubles with them. it realy comes down to who builds your engines and wheather good seals have been used. anywho good luck with your build dude keep us posted

Howzit people, I am from South Africa and I own a 1974 RX2 coupe and a 2004 ute, and I agree that a 13b N/A or turbo'd would be great fun in a ute I think. Anything is possible when you have the cash:)
Well ,the rotary will be a very expensive choice to fit.
You could run a 13b or 13bt without the turbo with either a IDA down draught carby from tweakit.com or still fuel injected with a decent fuelmanagement system like a Microtech,rx7 g/box,modified toyota hilux diff with 4.55 ratio. Then suspension,front and rear and if you think of running Turbo , I suggest some kick A$$ BRAKES :)

I had a 4agze with T3/T4 turbo in my ute
for a year and no thanks,now I am deciding between some other options too, Rotary....maybe, VG30 Twin turbo.... another maybe we shall see :))

What ever you choose will be expensive to do it right ,trail and error is what will cost you the most unfortunately .

i have got nothing against rotors, but if you talk to the engenieers left in vic (4 on the list dont do it full time any more and 1 doenst respond to calls or emails????) im finind it hard enough to get one to do an L18 conversion with me.

I know the headaches Ange had just getting the 12 a singed off on and there are others that can tell you the risks of having and engenieerd vs non car.

Personally i wouldnt take the chance. 13bt in a 1200 is total overkill but 12at would be nice. even anges 12a goes good enough.

The biggest factor i see with high hp in the 1200 is traction, no one can get it sorted. So why bother with high hp when lower hp or cubic capcity could be quicker.

i say if u have the cash do the rotor..... its different and they sound sooooo goood ported. i have a 1200 ute with a ca 18det and its wicked, it spools up and i get a smile on my face every time, and the power is unbelievable, so don't get me wrong, the ca's are good and i love my car........ its a choice i guess.. u either love em or u hate em....... good luck mate
