I've actually been blessed; I own a Hillman/sunbeam/chrysler/talbot Avenger, called a Plymouth Cricket over here. The chassis has around 400,000mi on it and the engine had 200,000mi when it leaned out.
I put a stuck 150,000mi engine in it that had been left out in the rain, sanded the cylinder walls wit h80g sandpaper and put it back together with the original headgasket. That engine still runs in my spare car.
In '97 I bought an '81 210 with a fresh engine and put the A15 60 series 5 speed in it. I broke the oil pressure sender off at 39,000mi so I found a brand new crate A14 which is in it now and runs perfect.
The only lucas related problem I've had is the headlight switch.
