I had the misfortune of doing spare parts for British cars and they were with out doubt the biggest heaps of #### that I have seen.
All the cars had prince of darkness electrics, out of date fuel systems ,oil leaks from every part and to top if of proven faulty parts were replaced with the exact same faulty parts.
Even the marque of Rolls Royce had just gone from SU carbys to K jectronis fuel injection ( volvo had the same system in the early 70's)
Back in 95 Discoverys had a R380 geabox this box was fitted to likes of Dolomites and whatever other crap Leyland pushed out.
The best news I got was when the boss ssaid we wont touch Leyland/Rover cars.
My dad back in the 70's had a Leyland Beaver prime mover damn thing near sent him broke but the Volvo and the Mercedes gave great service
British build quality I dont think so

yeah i agree the 120y is in imaculate condition. not that stig needed any advantage!

not sure how many 120y's that are in the UK? have seen a couple on this site over the years and in equally good condition.

I reakon the stig should have participated in the same challenges as james,jeremy and richard did, it would have made good tv! and then afterward have a few laps on the cicular skid-pan! after all................ everybody has 400hp in the wet!

It's probably better to say it was unfair to compare the Stig's driving to the three stooges driving....I think the Stig ensured the Datsun had an unfair advantage.

Yeah it looked pretty clean obviously had some work done to it or its been in a shed since new

I dont know for a fact that it was restored, but it was far too neat to be your average 120y...

restored? didn't relised it was restored. i reakon a clapped out 120y would out do any clapped out relics, just based on the build quality, the japanese take great pride in their work!

Yeah but Datsun drivers aren't fair, we like to suprise people and haul on thier asses.

Well not me cos my car isn't hat fast but you get the idea
