I put a conrod into the side of the block a few months ago ... rebuilt the engine and now it's better than ever you should try to go to the Datsun Day anyway and enjoy the labours of others ... might help to fire you back up.

So after working for the last week and a half till 2 am each morning to get the thing ready for dataun day, it looks like I've stuffed the engine trying to correct timing and tune . Fatal metal sound means I'm not coming to datsun day. I'm gutted, pretty low point in the build .
Hope to see some good photos from those who are going!

had to go with hotdog between the catalytic converter and the muffler ... otherwise the db level was a fail.
Also if you're getting a custom made exhaust make sure that it is not too tight anywhere - mine used to rattle terribly

exciting day..
trailering the car to get the exhaust and tailshaft done.. hoping to get it completed before datsun day.... any ideas on the exhaust exiting the back of the car.. thinking of just going with a straight pipe, i really dont like the look of cannon exhausts on datsuns..

forgot to say that the ae86 diff is longer also so you will have to change your rim offset set up or do what i did down here
