Had a go at restoring my headlights last night, they have been stored away since i bought the car ( many moons ago) wrapped in newspaper as parts that came with the car. This meant i was unsure of the condition and when i unwrapped them i was not surprised to see them covered in dust, rust, and overspray.

There are a few parts to the headlights, a headlight cup that the sealed unit sits in, For those younguns the headlight and globe are the one piece! A chrome trim that screw down the headlight into the headlight cup and then the adjusting screws and springs that mount the headlight to the car itself.

A light sand and wipe down with prepsol will allow the paint to stick better to the surface

made in japan yo!

polished up the chrome trims using Autosol which removed all overspray and came up a treat.

I then painted up the headlight cups in silver to look cleaner but not stand out too much against the white paint as opposed to black. I also painted up the adjusting screws/fittings and springs in black to look new again.

time to install and crack a beer and sit back and soak in the beauty
