#1 A12 Needed ex Bris ect
DattoFrog Posted on: 2008/7/29 5:24
My A12 is blowing smoke,
Makes James Bond look like a joke.
Only does it when it is cold,
I think the rings are getting old.

Need good A 12 to drop in while I rebuild this one. I can't have the car off the road it is my daily. Anyone got one lying around? Ex Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba.

Hey mate, I got 3 A12 engines, however I am unaware of their condition as one is completely shagged(same problem as yours) the other is an A12A, similar to standard but has a electronic carburater choking system and is a tad more powerful... And I also have one still in an engine bay without a bonnet on the car !! I live up in Toowoomba so if you are curious just give me a buzz

You have an A12A engine?
I thought that these were used only in the US market in the US model 210 [B310/Sunny] & I didn't think that we were importing used Datsun engines from the US.

The genuine A12A used that designation as the engine number prefix & with it's 75mm bore it displaces 1237cc & is a great candidate for an A13 conversion by simply using standard 76mm [or larger stock oversizes] A14 pistons. These engines have the correct rods for such a conversion.

Yeah, I picked it up from a wreckers. However I found when putting it in you needed to somehow elevate it because of the oil filter hits the cross member... But after I had it in I decided to opt for the CA . Don't know why I didn't go for it straight away, I guess I wanted my little beast on the road sooner rather then later...
