well the other day one of my lovely neighbors acquaintances came to the fence and said Hey bro you got a bit of foil so we can cook some munchies on the grill. Came back out with a bit and he said Nice car there bro Gemini isnt it i said no Datsun 1200 coupe he gave me that look like i was just speaking another language. Then nodded oh nice that one bro.

i think the 1200 coupe cops the most "what is that?" particularly when it has only one badge on the entire car...and i don't think the D on the front grill is enough of a clue for most.....

it is funny tho when dudes walk past my STI liberty wagon to gawke at the little coupe that can't, (right now anyway).... even the new kawasaki's i have to ride from work doesn't distract most... can't wait till the granny spec sedan is here and going

I get the wtf is that alot i have a 1200 long wheel base ute. I had a guy at better electrical come out and go who lengthened that for you and i said they came out in a long tray hes said nah they didn't n i said well you would know and walked off.
Heaps of people ask if its a modified hilux being so long. Alot of people are just confused when they see it. Then you get the guys that want you to do a skid.

One guy when i was driving my ca 1600 asked what the noise was that was coming from under my car as i didn't mount the fuel pump right so i said the fuel pump and he said whats that. I then wound my window up and blasted off.

Oh, I forgot about the supportive comments I typically get from my family and friends. Like...
"You still have that thing?"
"When are you gonna get a new car?"

"The kids are not coming with us. Let's take the little car"
"No"

"Dude you make enough money, why don't you get a real car? That does zero to sixty in like what?"
"in like 35 miles per gallon fuker"

Over the last few years i have had people ask. 'Your a mechanic right, with kids, why don't you drive a newer car?'

All I say is 'When my car stops paying me to drive it I'll consider getting a newer car. Until then, this little piggy goes to market, work, home and doesn't eat my roast beef!'
