Mate, if a little brain fade is the worst thing you ever do, then you're OK, so don't worry about it.

Both of the 56A five speeds were dogleg.
The earlier 60L five speed used in B210 models was a dogleg shift and...
the 63 series that was apparently used in some North American B210 cars is also a dogleg.

Only the 60A[?] five speed that was used in the B310 [Sunny or US model '210'] came with the conventional five speed shift pattern.

The dogleg pattern puts reverse across to the left & forward [where 1st usually is] & 1st is across to the left & back, where second is usually found.

At least 3 types of dogleg.

Edit? I don't think so as there was no point to the preamble without the question. I might be a bit silly at times, but I'm not that stupid.

If it's a conventional 5 speed shift, with fifth across to the right & forward, then its the later 60 series from a B310 model as this was the only non dogleg version of a Datsun A series five speed gearbox.

Will they all fit an A series ? Was my question And the one im offering will have to be cleared up when i pull it out, hopefully this weekend. Its a standard pattern which should help a little more. Some had reverse above 1st from memory.

Nice edit dodgeman. Which particular 5 speed are you offering? That was added after i said whats ya point.

Point? There was no point as I wasn't making a statement, instead I gave background then asked a question.
Which 5 speed gearbox do you have available? There's five to choose from.

There are 6 different four speed gearboxes [counting the competition gearboxes] & believe it or not, 5 different five speeds [counting the competition gearbox] & if 56L five speed actually existed, then that would make six.

Which particular 5 speed are you offering?
