Very nice work there, the 280zx strut is probably the best strut to use in a 1200. What are you doing in the way of inserts?

Not to sure yet? I can get a discount at Quadrant billstien but i think there all gas stuts? probly go some decent KYB/Kayaba.
Probly no adjustable at this point? Any sujestions would be apreciated? Plan on it be'ing pretty trackday worthy as far as handeling go's edit: allso any Ideas on a lightweight caliper? the 280zx ones seem verry hevy for a single pot caliper.

Tokico externally adjustable are really cheap through groundcontrol in the US, or koni, kyb are great for a road car but 280zx valving may be too firm for a road going 1200.
As for calipers there was a kit selling on ebay for wilwood calipers but I can't find the link.. maybe adapting something yourself would be the best bet, try find some cheap wilwoods from the US for 10"x19mm rotors and go from there.

I don't actually know the length of the insert in my zx struts, i have never measured the body, I just ordered my konis revalved and that was that. Do you have some to measure?

I would think so, as long as the slot aren't too deep.
I put a load of insert lengths into the wiki a while ago now, never added the 280zx info so would be good to know.

If you measure from the bottom of the inside of the tube up to the underside of the gland nut, that would be the smallest insert you could run without a spacer, then you can add maybe 10mm to that as you should have about an inch of thread to play with.
Insert lengths vary from different manufacturers also, ie. a koni insert for a 280zx might be a couple mm different length than a kyb for the same car, they normally give a few shims or spacers for either above or below the insert. You can view topic.
