If I was going to do a transplant, I think Id rather go Ither a little mazda or suzuki all alloy twin cam things, with flat slides or quad throtlebody injection?

edit: and the next motor plan is an early a12 with a14 crank, gx head, absolutly retarded cam, flat slides.....

"Should be right he's running them on smaller discs so won't be as much force on them. Smaller leverage and all that. Its quite a nice setup."

the size of disc has no bearing on the forces that the caliper experiences.
the caliper mounts will experience the same forces no matter what size disc you run. (give or take)
The problem with machining the calipers is that the caliper probably flexes during operation. The material on the caliper is there for a reason. Thhe machining done may end up weakening the caliper or acting like a stress raiser. The other major reason that machining the caliper is not a good idea, is that it is probably illegal..

the brakes should be working, bit strange they arent? fluid might eplain it but why drive with no fluid? i have a smiliar outside work area, very weather dependent.

Just got keen coz it was runing and whipped up the street without a thought. Only got into 2nd so no big brama.

There is fluid and did slow me a little, the fluid is in desperate need of draining and I think the master cylinder is a bit iffy but I hav a brand new one, and will get some pad's and fluid..

Yeah, and good Ol' melbourne... it iether wet or to bloodey hot!
