I was told years ago that if you put some vegimite thats diluted in hot water and give it to them with their meals(dry bikkies or with meat) that stops them from eating their own sh!t. Worked wonders for the german shepard that we had, some would consider it an old wives tale, i don't know why it works but it does, give it ago you got nothing to loose.

Who said dogs were stupid!!!

My brothers dog Zac used to eat the plastic garden piping so he filled a piece with halipinos and extra hot tobasco, wasabi and pretty much anythine else he has. Gave it to the dog and took away his water and left him to it. An hour later he comes out to check and the dog has stripped the plastic and has licked it clean. He gives the dog his bowl back and the dog ignores it and resumes licking the pipe.

Dog 1, Jeremy 0.

He replaces the garden pipe with copper.

Dog 2, Jeremy 0.

Zac also inspects his turds on a regular basis. If it smells o.k gobble it up. Smells no good leave Jeremy to pick it up.

Tried the pepper, mustard, chilli etc on her #### as a pup and she would still eat it. Tried some tablets from the vet and they didnt work. But she only does it occasionally now so I assume its attention.

And SHepherds are so naughty when they get bored. Hense I have no retic in the back yard. Just piles of pipe, solenoids and sprinklers.

All dogs eat their own sh!t on occasions.
I like to keep that in mind whenever you notice their a breath is a bit more pungent than normal.

this is the funniest thread I have read for weeks. Dogs are great but they are still filthy animals. kids have a Shletie ex-show dog the thing is spoilt to the hilt but still eats its poo. Yuk what friggin animal does that.
