valve spring installation question

Is it possible to install the valve springs upside down? I have a GX head with the double valve springs.
If so, what are the consequences of having them installed improperly? If it doesn't make a difference then I will have a few more questions! :)

i would have thought they can go in either way with no difference... but i have been wrong before

They can be installed either way.

It's usually only tapered springs that are designed to go in one way.

Some valve springs have the coils closer together at one end & from memory, these go to the top. [EDIT. Subject to correction by anybody who actually knows for sure.] If they are equally spaced then it doesn't matter.Quote:

I wonder if Mini double valve springs fit GX head? Anyone knows?

close coils ALWAYS go against cyl head
mini too short same as 1.6 ford crow 4028 good single for a series dazza

Yeah, I just installed double valve springs & the tight end goes down!
But, being just a spring, it would not matter anyway. the same spring rate will still apply, I am pretty sure.

What more double valve spring of other kind can we use in a A series head?
