I wanted to keep the motor to nissan/datsun thats why i wanted to look into L-series, which has been tried and tested and over decades in rally cars and the like, good cheap reliable power in my opinion.
I know what you mean about GTI motors D, a good mate of mine has a twin cam GTI, fully worked and this thing does the meanest torque steers i have ever seen!Dave Homer's GTI is a proven race winner! that how good they are! So the suzuki sierra gear box is all thats needed to turn it into RWD configuration? it's an option! i'll look into it and see what i can find. Where on earth can i get a huybasa motor? The A14 turbo thats in the 1000 now is good and has plenty of power but i don't know? i want more, just looking at my options

but can the car handle it? and whats the use of being able to go real fast when you have to follow the speed limit? buy another 1000 and put a high power motor in that and race it on strip or track ill sell you my 69 wagon if you want to do it?

just on the bike engine idea, ive often thought about doing this, but what would you do in the way of a clutch etc...??

You use the bike clutch and gearbox, it's all intergrated into one package. The only problem is difficulty selecting neutral and having reverse. So that gearbox that I was talking about earlier, it connects directly to the gearbox output (where the sprocket on the bike used to go), with forward, neutral and reverse. From that, you have your drive shaft. It would be mighty fun

so a bike clutch would be decent for taking off? i wouldve thought trying to lug a car off the line would be hell on it.
ive seen one of those scale fj holden racers with a bike engine, so i know what you mean by shaft of the engine deal. how would you get around the reverse shamozzle? eleccy reverse? didnt some bikes have reverse like the goldwings or something? sorry this is getting a bit off track..

steveo whats your a14 turbo setup?
would you be happy with 200hp at the threads? If you are not worried about pollution gear since its going to be a race car then you would find it hard to overlook an qr20de with wolfe cams, cleaned up ports and exhaust ports, balancer removal kit, quad bike carbs and tuned exhaust. A responsive 220hp would be enough no? Don yes still got the 1k, not selling now I was delirious. You can view topic.
