if the nats turn out to be a non event for all (i doubt it ) there are plenty of cruising places to go for a road trip we went to queen mary falls beaut spot for bbq etc or stanthorpe / girraween national park . these spots are both within 1 hr drive so if you are thinking it wont be worthwhile coming think again we have 60 plus members all keen datto and nissan owners i have 3 myself

I really do hope you guys have a fabulous time, and i'm not being sarcastic so don't think that please.
This year(08)i competed at 5 bitumen two day events, both single lap sprints and super sprints in SE Qld.My total lap count for these events combined was 79 not including warm up laps or re-runs.

The total entry cost for the above events was $640.00
In addition to the entry i got free entry for the crew everywhere, free camping if req'd,3 produce bags(sponsors parafanalia) with other stickers and stuff, event hats, competitors medalion from one and small commemrative plaque from another(series)presented at annual dinner presentation.
This does not include event trophys and bottles of wine at certain events if you are on the podium,or series trophys at years end.
Now as i get my calculator out....that $8.10 per lap average, fairly reasonable i reckon, and at every event more Datto's than you can poke a stick at.

I just think the Z club could try a bit harder.

Note: These numbers do not include Hillclimbs or Dirt Sprints/Autocross which would make the figures look even better.

Now i just hope the economy picks up so i can do even more next year, but sadly not Datnats

I'm having a chat to the other SDC datto guys and family.

I'm starting to plan to go, The reduction in the cost of petrol at least has made it a possibility now.

I'd like to get my car more pretty and get it re-dyno'ed, but I'm trying to kill my mortgage, so I can afford the 8 car garage (1 bedroom house) I've always dreamed of

this is just a basic list-
bonnet needs to be sercured by either bonnet pins or bonnet strap,
fire extingisher on the passenger floor,
blue triangle indicating where the battery is,
double springs on the accelerater linkages,
adequate seat belts,
an approved helmet,
non-synthetic clothes,
as long as you car is roadworthy it should be fine.
Seeing your car is registered in QLD you also need to get a 'motorsport extension' from the insurer that does you CTP(greenslip)
