Sorry my fault! i shoud've mentioned that i'll be running my A14turbo motor, so the torana brakes would be overkill.
I'm interested in the Hyundai Sonata rear rotors and the laser calipers, simple bolt on set up! The S13 set up would work effectively. I'm planning running 13's, i've got a set with Yokahama AO32r's. Bert:I remember the white 2-door sedan that robert ran at Mt cotton in my blue CA18DET powered coupe( you may remember) when i was living in QLD and i vaugely remeber him say that he used Laser parts, but i wasn't sure. did u run brake booster? Anyone got any suggestion for suspension set-up?

Yeah,that ring's a bell,that was a while ago,but yes what he said was accurate.
No booster on that car, used a 1200 coupe master for memory.A firm pedal that required a bit of effort to stand it on it's nose but with good feel(my preferance,he had to learn to like it,which he did)and a rear brake bias adjuster. To help further with this discussion, what class are you aiming at? Cheers

With the 1400 it'll put me over the engine capcity for 2Lt class, if i get serious with it i'll put an A12 so it brings me up to under 2Lt.
I intend do do some hillclimbs and sprint event first so i can develop the handling, suspension and braking systems, and i'll take it from there. I've also have another CA18DET powered coupe in progress, it'll be built for the track. The standard suspension isn't that bad needs too be stiffened up a little but the big thing is the brakes! the poor girl has still got 4-wheel drum and she's starting to become a 'pig under brakes, it's gets a bit hairy! I've played with 1200's for years! the 1000's are different but i'm hooked! im a B10 lover now!.................... And i'm proud of it!

Now where getting somewhere.
For sprints and hillclimbs at stuff all expense,i would exchange the front 1000 hubs for standard 1200 coupe hubs and rotors, which will go straight on and knock up a bracket to hang some(slightly larger)120y or Sunny push me pull me calipers with a decent pad. I have a friend(with national motor sport titles)up here who's boy races on this set up and is king of the kids.He only starts to get a bit of fade after 25 or more laps flat out at Morgan Park driving a N/A 1400cc 1200 Coupe weapon.

In the future i would like to race in the improved production classes but for now i'm just sticking to hillclimbs and sprints.
I'm interested in finding out more about sonata/laser combo, what models do they come from?

lots and lots and just a bit more work trust me dont bother with it wayy to much work im halfway through but there is no way i would do it again!
im going to finish it though! just gotta work out the problem of the tie rod issue then i might look into making other custom bits... maybe adjustable LCA's?? but im defiantly going to make custom engine mounts for later model a series motors so you cut the old ones off sit the new ones on and weld em up!

Tie rod end I think someone mentioned in the past was sorted using a datsun 1600 one.
Kinswood front end and brakes are ridiculously heavy and unnecessary unsprung weight. The vanette brakes are the borderline conversion in heavy weight unless you consider alloy hats on 2 piece rotors and lighter weight calipers. My sigma brakes worked a treat when pushed at calder on the heavier coupe I used to own and with slotted rotors would be sufficient. You are talking a very lightweight car and even Abarth fiats used similar sized rotors and calipers for over 900kgs race cars. You can view topic.
