hey guys, its about time i shared my little project... i got this little ute off ebay about 4 months ago, for a tad over 1k. it did come with a few spares like: repro front gaurds (pre pianted white), repro bonnet, spare a12, 4sp, tail shaft and diff (all from a b310 sunny). i keep trying to convince my self, to keep it standed, so i will get it done on time and on a good budget!! but that has proven difficult!! and hanging around here isnt helping, with all your bad (read as good) ideas!!

so fare i have removed a fair amount of rust from both sills, both rear wheel arches, inner rear quarters, radiator suport and also rebuilt the lower half of the passenger door. ive also removed the tail gate bump stops, welded all the pop rivet holes from the plastic tarp hooks. ive folded up a rear shelf for behined the window for a tarp or lid, not sure which one i want yet.. but that can wait for now.

heres how it looked when i got it home..

next was.. wire wheeled tub, etch primed, 2pk primed and 2pk gloss black. ive also just sprayed on a tub liner/pannel fleck, but dont have pics yet.

then came the rear shelf:

mocked up taiwanese tailgate, wasnt to hard to fit, just trimed the top lip to match the gap on the opposite side the slotted the holes in the hinges 3mm:

my hydro handbrake, my custom billet handbrake cover, i didnt have one so i just turned one up in a hour, along with a matching gear knob (why not!!) also i dint like how the shifter hit my leg in 4th so i cut and striatend a spare shifter i had..

trying out a cleaned up cross fever.. ive since pained the center all black. i still havnt found a 4th wheel either!! now just need to drop the front end 30-40mm

next i pulled out the engine and painted the engine bay, just the standed nissan/datsun 002 white in 2pk, i CBF'ed changing the colour so the whole car will be the standed 002 white.. also droped in the spare motor to see if it ran and to drive it in and out of the shed while i freshen up the old a12.

thats not all that i have done so far, but its getting late and ill post it later tomoz...

thanks for the kind words guys.

yeah im putting the bumpers back on. on my old ute i had, i welded them up, also shaved the handles and hinges and was going to swing the tail gate for something different (but after a month of trying differnt hinge combo's i gave up on that). but on this build i wanted to keep it simple and tidy..

oh and the front lip is my home jobby, i first made a template out of wood. i spent a few nights trying different styles and shapes.. then i wraped it in sheet metal, i just clamped the temp over the sheet to a big heavy bench an went nuts with the hammer and dolly, then pulled out the temp and welded up the seems on the end corners and when to work agian with the hammer and dolly..
