#11 Re: TRX lsd's?

What never fails to annoy me are the people who are ever ready to pass an authoritative comment on subjects they know nothing about.
The person who told you that TRX's came with LSD's wouldn't have a clue & his seeing eye dog couldn't find one either even if it smelled like hamburger.

Here's the deal
Model 910 [Bluebird, series 1 & 2.
4 Door Sedan with 4 speed gearbox. H165 in 3.7 to 1 ratio
Station wagon with 4 speed gearbox. H190 in 3.9 to 1 ratio
All other Sedans & Wagons with Auto or 5 speed gearbox. H165 in 3.9 to 1 ratio.

Model 910, All. H190. Ratios unknown to me.

As you already know, there were no LSD's available in these models in Australia.

searching 4x4 navaras for H190 LSDs would be the easier option, still not easy as not a lot of them have LSDs

thaks for every1's help and suggestions!

It might seem like a stupid question but how do you tell a diff is an LSD without cracking the diff apart? is there anyway to tell thats it a LSD?

Pigdog: What model narvara's r u talking about?

jack the car up and spin one of the wheels, if the opposite wheel spins the same way its either locked or an LSD
if it spins the opposite way its an open centre

The wheels spin the same way when the car is jacked up.

Edit: pigdog beat me to it!

Thats a pretty easy question.

You can put anything into a 1200 if you plan to cut it down.

The R31 BW diffs are popular ( I have one).
Reasonably tough, 31 spline from memory.
The same diff came in commodores from Vn to about VRIII and falcon EA to about EL.
Heaps of ratios and LSD is not hard to find.

But they are kinda heavyish so you want to have some ponies to push it about.

Hi guys
The easiest way to get a stronger diff for A series motor applications would surely be a ute diff as it is a easy swap. LSDcentres are another story. Topgear seems a bit hard to locate for one of his diff centres so is there another centre that can be used or adapted. If my memory serves me correctly there was talk of a toyota centre fitted to a 165 diff on this site at one stage. Can someone enlighten us
Cheers
Bob

yeh ae86 (T-series?) LSD unit into h165 has been done, needs some modification though (cant remember specifics).

you can get h190 LSD's out of the US i believe, the 720 utes are quite popular over there.
