Travis I know you are thinking bike engine but just throwing it out there
how about 2 suzuki 3 cylinder sohc hemi 8v engines with a custom one piece sump to hold the bottom secure, custom one piece inlet and exhaust manifolds to hold the top secure and since you are up north and anything is almost engineer-able a toyota 2ltr supercharger. A bellhousing is available from sierras that can be modded for a w series toyota gearbox and youl will have a 2liter hemi all alloy straight six. 74mm bore with 77mm stroke youll hit 1987cc. straight 8 idea as reference L8 buildup pages How the blocks are honed or worked and pay the price of a 6 instead of 2 separate engiens by bolting them up together for the machining. It will be cheaper all up and the 3 cyl version is known to put out max hp over 200hp atw and fitted to even porsches as a cheap replacement. It will be totally balanced as a 6 unlike all 3 cyl designs. You will have to offset one of the cranks at 120 degrees each? complete engine weighs 130lbs so times 2 minus extra alternator, starter, flywheel, clutch and other bits maybe 220lbs all up with lightened flywheel/ billet alloy clutch package thats round 105kg the same or lighter than an a15 complete with flywheel/clutch etc. Attach file: 60953P6140002jp_00000022269.jpg (59.46 KB)![]()

i reckon it would be heaps easyer to try putting a CA in it or a mild A series and then yopu know that the clutch and output shafts wont snap of like it could on a motor bike motor
but it would be cool to have a busa in a 1000 ute :)

if your still goin the bike motor route i would be looking at the clutch as the weak point and make sure you got the right diff ratio's, i can't see the clutch lasting very long at all you'll be forever replacing them and it sucks

Little more progress. After studying for the past 9 months, the cash is starting to flow a little more. Got these in the mail today. Got these from the UK for $160(AUD) posted! Bargain. If anyone is keen, I can get you on to him. Next will be the fibreglass front guards and bonnet and I am going to reproduce the tailgate with fibreglass too.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Looks pretty bad with the jellybeans, but I'll try to get a pic with the rims on. Also looking at getting my hands on a Datto 1200 ute rear, so it should push the rims out a little too.

the zx-14 has 154nm of torque at 7,500rpm.
the new yamaha vmax engine would be interesting, 1.7 litre v4 with, and i quote yamaha, " 147.2 kW (200 bhp at 9000 rpm, together with a huge torque output of 166.8 Nm (17.0 kg-m) at 6500 rpm." to early for cheap engines to be popping up just yet, won't be a while for that i think.

any high performance/high cc bike engine will have more then enough torque to push a sub 700kg car along quite well so dont be worried about that You can view topic.
