well best place to start, in my opinion, is with what sorta wheels you want to run

as that can determine whether you stay with stock struts or go for the bigger ones
then you can figure out what brakes will fit under the wheels and go onto what ever struts

you will be...what about future plans for wheels
or are you just going to leave skyline wheels on there?

i have ready standard rims, keeping old school look, with 260C caps, visor and id like peer mirror fit'en them is a bastard no where to hook up,

mite sound funny but im not going for bling bling big chromies.....nothing like that, (sleeper look), i think it be unique in it own way.........

and if i do go away from standard rim il be looking for simlar offset

why on earth would something like that be illegal?

Not that I'm not beleaving you, I do!! I know they are illegal.

just that whom'ever came forth and sugested that a LAW should be made against something that will prevent a car from suddenly loosing the rear end under heavy braking.... well there should be a LAW against people like that....
It's illegal to place a manually adjustable brake bias valve inside a registered vehicle & [presumably] within reach of any occupant of the vehicle because some moron, either at the wheel or in another seat, will eventually mess with the settings. If this happens in just one vehicle, somewhere, someday, & results in unbalanced brake performance that leads to a fatal accident, then the lawers will have a field day.

In the current litigous society the blame would eventually be sheeted home to the authorities that allowed it in the first place.
Guess who'se being pro active & covering their arse, & lets face it, if you had the power to ban or to allow, & it was going to be your neck in the noose when it all goes horribly wrong, & Murphy's Law says it will, what would you do.

The only type of adjustable brake bias valve that the rego Nazi's want to see on a lawfully registered car in this country is one that is fitted outside the passenger cell & adjustable only with the use of tools. After all, once it is correctly set, there will never be need to touch it again.

Makes sense to me.

rightio, if thats your plan for wheels then you should be right with the r31 brakes on bluebird struts and it should all fit nice and snug in the front, will probabl need some spacers in the rear to make it look right though

What about the s13 front brakes onto 1200/120y struts that can be done with minimal increase in track (about 6mm a side). and would be well matched to the r31 rears. You can even buy the caliper mounts so its all bolt together and that way you wouldn't need to change struts just use what you've got.

now that sounds like a great idea,

so can i use s13 rotor and r31 caliper,
is there any machining to be done or just the rotor bolt straight on?

id like to keep same calipers (matching)

you use the s13 rotor and caliper. They are 250mm discs and a single pot caliper. They would be perfectly suited to your r31 rear brakes and I would go as far as saying there would be a few others on the site running that exact combo. I believe Kev Rowley is the man to contact about the caliper bracket. Someone on the site will be able to chime in with his contact details.
I reckon that would be the simplest most cost effective option for you with the bits you already have. Plus bolt on mods make life so much easier. S13 rotors and calipers can be brought for nothing since all the silvia boys swap them off for the big nissan four pots

edit: I think they may require the hubs to be turned down a couple of mm so the rotor will fit over the hub. Its all pretty minimal stuff that any engineering shop can do for cheap/beer.
Have a quick search on the site its been covered quite a bit.

was going to say about s13 stuff...might have even mentioned it

but will the r31 rims fit with 120y struts?
