Forgot to mention LJ would also need the mazda rotor button.

Best bet though as Gav mentioned is to mod a later g13bb or g16b post 1998 rear camshaft electronic pickup or other hall effect sensor.

Gav, no need to go crazy with the rebuild in the future, all you need is an Indonesian or japanese sourced g15aid or g15b bottom end with forged rods. Theres a gti in Peru with a naturally aspirated g15/g13b head combo on 38mm bike carbs with the world quarter mile record for NA and street tyres. While in NSW there was a g16b/g13b head turbo with 412hp or similar HP to the twin engine cultus.

Capacity is the way for the G series they are an amazing little donk.

I think the turbo is good size for stock internals. If I went crazy with a rebuild I think I would want bigger. Wouldn't want any smaller.

I had to cut out heaps for my gearbox. In the end I cut the lower vent out of the heater box and sealed it up. Figured I could get fresh air from my wing vent windows.

I need to smile.
The suns out today. Think I'll take the Superbee for a Sunday drive. . Girlfriend says I'm working to much on the house.

Gav, would make anyone smile!

LJ, Just cut the water channel leaves heaps of room and use mazda 323 or astina rotor cap on the stock dizzie.

The water channel mod can be seen on one of my posts on datsun1000.com
it almost leaves enough room for an L series to fit.

yea i've seen that, they say it doesn't seal properly dunno how true that is though. if its a requirement to get the mod plate i guess its got to be done.

how'd you find the turbo? is it small enough for the motor?

Thanks D, as you know its been a long process but every time I drive it puts a huge smile on my face. From memory the seats are well built and much heavier than standard seats. The fibre-glass bases needed to be cut and shut as the head rest almost touched the roof.

@lethal_john, Suzi-tech at Thornliegh made the dizzy and it cost a fortune. If I was to do it again I would just cut the fire wall. I think you can use a Mazda cap which gives you more room. Then you could move the whole engine and box back and you would have less problems like fitting fans and you might even get away with a one piece tail shaft.

If you look at my pics, you can see that you have to cut heaps to fit the gearbox. It wouldn't be that much more work and I think you would have less problems. As it turned out I don't even really need my dizzy, it's only really a hall effect sensor now.

Sounds like a well thought out kb10 project Gav, please when you have some time put some pics or info on datsun1000.com to support the guys there and give the 1000 only peeps that visit there inspiration.

Ive been wanting to ask you, when you bought the rx7 seats do you recall if they where quite heavy? they seem very well built and been meaning to either buy mx5 or rx7 seats.

Sorry, haha. I was in a rush.

Race Solution's at Penrith tuned it and I was very happy with whole process and the tune. It hit 138kw and then they pegged it back for safety so it's running everyday at around 130kw on 13psi. The car drives really well. Starts perfect and warms up and idles down without sitting in the car and revving it up. It's not super quick but defiantly a quick little 1000.

Next is a little bit of trim work and then I just want to give a good clean up and see where I'm at. Then start driving it more. Saving up for better brakes and a diff.
