I'm sorry, but it takes more than just a lot of expensive parts to build a rad car. He lacks the basic knowledge about building motors. At the start, the block hasn't even been hot tanked. You can bet he doesn't even own a brush to clean out all the oil galleries in the block. Imagine if that was your car he was building. Or your ca18? "Hows my motor doing mate" "your (Tomei) cam snapped into tree bits." It was no good". I'd kick his head in if he did that to me. And maybe torch his shop.

He's already doing it...

I'm looking at the pictures and wondering what the hell is up with the head. Now I'm thinking that those holes all over the squish area are punch holes that were made to either create space or heave the metal up to give more pressure when torqued down. That probably didn't work, so he might be reasoning that filing grooves away from those areas will bleed pressure away from those areas when compression occurs, so that the head gasket won't blow in those areas.

Just rambling on here, and trying to figure out what the hell is going on in his head, though it doesn;t seem much...

Those sharp edges on the filed grooves will just cause hot spots and pinging, next will come holes in the pistons!
