Frank, It will definitely give the feeling of more lag since the decreased bottom end torque will mean the car builds revs slower so reaches the point of full boost slower.

....my brain say if the air velocity was increased and thus there was more torque available at lower rpm the car was accelerate better at a lower rpm - thus feel less 'laggy'
- you might be referring to the rpm of the tubro taking longer to increase? My use of lag was that feeling you get when there is no torque then all of a sudden the turbo kicks in hard....not anything acutally to do with the rpm of the turbo, only about the actual torque produced by the engine.
