A12 Combustion Chamber Volume for regular petrol

Hi
for the A series engine is there a standard compression ratio to run standard fuel ( not high octane). I want to cc a engine to make sure the compression is not too high before putting it back together, the previous owner has flat top pistons etc... may need to detune a little bit. cheers
