is that the only way as the ute ones mount on angles, not keen on chopin and welding, can the sedan ones flange out??

Cut and weld or find someone to do it for you. I am modifying one right now but it is out of a 411 which is becoming a pain in the butt. It will work out in the end but it has been a lot of work so far.

He's probably got the H165 rear axle housing that is made for a 1200 (common in Australia). If so, there no need to cut & weld, just obtain the bottom plate brackets that match.

You'd have to cut the spring pads off your old diff, and weld them onto your new one. Or get some box section, cut it in half, and weld it to the spring pad, but leave enough meat on the box section to attach the shock to.

yeah the h165 (aussie ute) axles housings r thicker than that of a h145, ill just cut them off the sedan and make the ####ers fit, 10kg ball peen hammer should get the required result then weld in place off the ute ones, or the box section sounds good, ne idea of thickness 5mm 6mm???

This is a tough one.

UTE: shocks mount at an angle to the plate below the leaf spring, like a Coupe
SEDAN: shocks mount straight up, to the bracket above the leaf spring. This sedan bracket (shown at top right corner of this pic) does not exist on a Coupe or Ute.

Also, the sedan doesn't use the same housing flat mounts...the ute housing is more like the coupe housing:

you can make the sedan mounts fit pretty easily, i just squashed them in a vice slightly so they opened up enough to fit the ute axle tube
or you could just pull out a grinder and grind a bit out of the mount so its the right shape where it meets the diff
