hey guys,
just looking for opinions on my plans.
i have a A14 with a bit of work to the motor with twin 40mm side draught webbers. im looking to build a turbo setup. my mate works for srk engineering in bathurst so fabrication is no problem. im planning on using a standard manifold on the motor, building and exhaust manifold to fit probably a T2??? and having the twin webbers on the inlet side of the turbo. as for the webbers my plan is to have one function as normal and the other to open at 1/2 throttle to feed more fuel while its boosting, i havent yet looked for oil feed or return lines or cable positioning but that will come later.
i would appreciate any input good or bad.
keep in mind i will only be buying the turbo, lines and fittings and accelerator cable. a conversion isnt really an option.
thanks again guys.

jay

you shouldnt need to adjust the throttle postioning as it will draw what fuel it requires. in short you can really only change its jetting. good luck with your project.

my opinion would be to sell the weber and find a 1 and 3/4 su instead. the extra cash from the weber can fund your turbo project

the only problem is i dont know how to tune a su, haha.
been told they need it nearly every month so it could be costly

SU's are so much easier to tune than webbers! once you learn its dead easy!

Of course instead of using a SU you could use a webber if you like, alot more involved it setting a webber up to handle boost.

I can't see how tuning a single su can be hard . As long as you have a few needles to play with and maybe a few different tension springs to change the damper rates, put the car on the dyno and sort out your af ratios. once it is set just keep the damper filled with auto trans fluid and you won't have to touch it.

"Su midel" are great for support and parts.

Good luck.

i was under then impression that the damper rate was to do with the grade of the oil
