I have to say that based on my experience I agree totally with DAT12T.
I love all datsuns but have you ever seen a nice original 1600? I don't think they exist anymore. As a project prospect they're very hard to find
in complete original condition.

Let those guys have their 1600s, leave us the mighty 12s

Also quite like the a series and injected Turbs mmm that would be nice. never had a 1600 or a run in with an owner there just not my thing. 1200's for life for me.

LOL it was better to let him think it was a stocker considering i had the mrs driving me around in it seems i got no licence for 3 yrs

I must say a lot of 1200 ute owners think 1200 utes are the be all and end all of datsuns, all others are crap. Not so much with the other shape 1200s.
I guess these people only buy 1200 utes because apparantly utes are cool and they want to look cool.

1600's are bloody excellent cars, I just have 1200's because they are easier to get good strong shells off old nanna's.
I have had 1600's and will happily again, just hard to find a good one, they have all been crashed by some idiot or rust hidden with chicken wire or newspaper.

Throw those pushrods in the bin!

alot of aussie 1200 utes are gross and the owners dont even like other 1200s, like sedans coupes wagons. its bizzare. not really datto enthusiasts, more like 1200 ute enthusiasts hahah. i would love a 1600 but unless i have some spare money and a bargain comes up it wont happen for a long time.
