must be the guys down south as most of the guys i know with 1600 up here in qld love all dattos
my first passion is a 1600 but i also like the look of all dattos apart from my 1600 i also have a 1200 coupe and 120y sedan which tyrie had a while ago orange with vinyl roof each car has a different character so its a bit tuff to tar every 1600 owner with the same brush would love to have 1 of each model if wife and room permited it we all have our own passion and conection with certain models but we dont all disregaurd the others and still look on with enthusiasm looking forward to ndn09 cheers

Yeah I've run into some pretty high and mighty Z owners, that think the only thing 1600s and 1200s do is bring down the prestige of their Datsun brand!
1600s I think are OK, just a little heavier than a 1200 that's all...

i must say i fell in love with datsuns when i was only 9 when my brother took me for a drive in the family heirloom datto 1200 coupe my dad owned it for years and had an accident in it and instead of fixing it himself he gave it to my brother who fixed it and sprayed it white and put an A14 with a sidedraught weber on it and extractors i loved that thing then he sold it to some guy and now i hear its some where in newcastle and the look on my parents face when i bought my datto ute and bought it home for the first time was priceless :)

the question i get quiet alot (witch i dont mind at all) is "i had one of these when i was younger", out of that i scored a 1200 coupe by talking to a old bloke about hes day with hes coupe, he use to race againest around with hes mate in hes cooper S,
so give the time and talk with people that love the datto's you never no what you score ....lol
