i love pretty much every datsun but 1200 coupe is my first choice. i will never look down on any model of datsun because they can each be better than each other in so many different ways. it all depends how well they are looked after and whether or not they have descent or no modification. they can all be beautiful and usually all are

I love all dattos but the apple of my eye is my 1200 wagon!
Rarest 1200 variant made in oz and the most versatile too, me thinks. You can have 4 people in it or fold up the back seat and carry plenty of cargo.

Someone hit the nail on the head in calling the 1600 mainstream before, they seem to be the flagship Datsun, with their impressive rallying history and all. Honestly I'd love a nice one but it's been a long time since i've seen one that doesn't have a rollcage, sunroof, gay huge chrome exhaust tip and heaps of other mods.

1200 utes are getting the same way, hard to find in good nick. Mine's not too bad but many were abused - not maintained and overloaded.

i must say i fell in love with datsuns when i was only 9 when my brother took me for a drive in the family heirloom datto 1200 coupe my dad owned it for years and had an accident in it and instead of fixing it himself he gave it to my brother who fixed it and sprayed it white and put an A14 with a sidedraught weber on it and extractors i loved that thing then he sold it to some guy and now i hear its some where in newcastle and the look on my parents face when i bought my datto ute and bought it home for the first time was priceless :)
