Nearly finished fitting CA Radiator. Just got to bend the top brackets for it and will cut some flat and weld nuts to the other side that they bolt to and then the flat can bolt to the top of the RSP on the under side just for added support. Also fitted maddat bracket for booster and clutch master all in pedals hooked up ready to go. Hoping to have this car done for local car show in October so back to it tomorrow. P.S more pics to come couldnt leave the crossmember as it was pulled out the half finished scalloped one and finished it off motor heaps lower now. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Thanks mate. Motor and box in after a stuff around trying to use a CA20 bluebird box with CA18 bell housing we decided to dig out the stumpy swap the bell housing and use it. Had problems with clearance yes even with a bluebird tunnel in it which mainly stems from the engine height. It could be a lot lower but the bonnet has plenty of clearance when back on and shut so I'm all good may finish off me other CA X member later on it has been scalloped to allow for lower engine. Bluebird gearbox X member bolts up and will fit with a bit of tweaking or may just make a fresh one. Getting there slowly mainly just want to get it all hooked up and running as well as all brakes setup and electrics so i can then pull it down fix my list of stuff/mods and paint it.

Nice attention to details. The wagon shows individuality.

Well welded some flat to rear of tank and some nuts and welded a bit of RHS to the front with some decent flat washers. Need to brace the front one up a bit more but its mounted and ready to move on to marking and relocating the filler hole. Heaps of clearance on the diff as i jacked it up at one point from under the diff. Got me CA X member and coil over kit the other day(Thanks Nik, Supafatto). So more stuff to keep me kicking on. Till next time Adiós

Well its been a while again but im back to it. Have the CA X member, mounts and coil over kit on the way. Removed the mounts off the mystery (possibly datsun 520 ute H190 ) diff and sat it all in all lined up bolted in rechecked it and tacked the mounts back on. Looks tough i reckon should be enough for CA18DE. Now going to re fit the centre and axles then start fitting the R31 tank so i can put wheels on and drop it down to check clearance around diff and fuel tank.

cool wagon! I'm currently in negotiation to buy a 520 wagon. eventually plan to fit a KA24de and probably turbo or supercharge it (like the individuality of supercharging although it might be more expensive) but I'd thought about a ute and although they look cool, they're just too constricted when you want to carry extra friends. good luck in your project.

After moving and having half ass attempts (must be crazy)at selling this beast. The motivation is back (Thanks PIGDOG) to kick on and get this little beauty going. Cleaned it all out today as its been used for storage and transporting stuff in the move. After having a play/drive with the other CADE wagon I've decided to CADE this one to. So off to light the fire in the shed and get cracking on the conversion and mocking up stuff. The tunnel is done and just begging for a CA 5 speed box to fill it up.

good choice- wagons seem to be more practicle than utes.
