the underdash one that was a dealer option fits best, looks like a suitcase screwed in under the passenger side of the dash. intrudes a little on kee room for the passenger. the other type that could be adpated is the sunny one that is integrated in with the original heater. this looks like it would intrude on foot weel space but should fit and use all factory parts for ac and heater.

I have both and keeping under dash one, not the sunny one, just becaue i have trial fitted it already.

The article says "Datsun 1200, unlike the Datsun 1000, was designed with airconditioning in mind."

I have a pamphlet in PNG that shows the air-con option in a Sunny 1000. Can anyone confirm?

Yeah interesting.

I'll get the pamphlet scanned. It was the JDM 1000 B10 2 Door brochure, possibly even the Sports..... I'll try and get a copy of it.

Chris

Yes, Datsun 1000 had regionally-available air conditioning.

Same for Datsun 1200. No export 1200s were fitted with air conditioning at the factory. It was done by the dealers after they arrived. But the 1200 design made some provisions for it, for example look at the core support panel with its cutouts for condensor, etc.
